COVID-19. Mexican Copyright Office (INDAUTOR) Update

In view of the contingency measures adopted to prevent the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, on April 1, 2020, the Federal Copyright Office (INDAUTOR) issued a decree suspending and interrupting terms, as well as the holding of hearings and settlement meetings, from March 26 to April 17, 2020 and stating that it would only be possible to file extraordinary applications and promotions.

On the decree it was established that extraordinary applications and motions are the following: registration of works and contracts, availability searches for reservation of rights, and assignment of ISBN and ISSN.

On April 17, 2020 an additional decree from INDAUTOR was published in the Federal Official Gazette extending the suspension until April 30, 2020.
